Bethany College is proud to welcome two new members to its admissions staff.
Sophie Blackwell will begin August 3 as an admissions representative. In this position, she will increase the overall enrollment of the college through successful recruitment activities and building relationships with high school, transfer and non-traditional students.
Blackwell, a 2008 graduate of the University of Kansas, earned a degree in communications studies. Her prior work experience includes service as a licensed insurance agent for Sunflower Insurance Group in Salina, Kan., as well as a corporate sales trainer for Occupational Performance Corporation in Salina.
Megan Pound will serve as an admissions representative, beginning Aug. 3. Pound will oversee student recruitment in western Kansas.
Pound is a 2008 Bethany alumna who graduated with a biology major and forensic science minor. Since 2008, she has worked as a Pacific region corps member with the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps serving multiple states. During the past year, Pound has assisted in the construction of new houses with Habitat for Humanity, tutored students in reading comprehension and fluency, aided in Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Gustav disaster recovery and worked with a transitional housing facility for families who have been homeless.
