PBS film featuring Pearson Profesor to be shown at Bethany

In preparation for the arrival of this year’s Pearson Professor, Bethany College will screen a PBS Nature film on September 10 at 8 p.m. in Lindquist Hall.

The film features this fall’s Pearson Professor Peter Savolainen, an international expert in genetics and the evolution of the domestic dog. A discussion about the film will be led by Mark Kozubowski, biology.

Savolainen is an assistant professor at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He specializes in forensic and genetic studies, particularly the study of dogs. In addition to teaching, he serves as a forensic expert for the Swedish police. This fall, Savolainen will partake in a number of activities, including public addresses onSeptember 29 and November 10 and chapel services on September 25 and November 18.
