Pearson professor to speak about his life as a scientist

Peter Savolainen, Bethany College’s 2009-10 Pearson Distinguished Professor of Swedish Studies, will give his first two public addresses September 25 and 29.

Savolainen will speak in Swenson Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on September 25.

On September 29, Savolainen will give a public address titled “My Life (up to now) as a Scientist.” He will speak at 7:30 p.m. in Lindquist Hall.

Both presentations are free and open to the public.

Savolainen is an assistant professor at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He specializes in forensic and genetic studies, particularly the study of dogs. In addition to teaching, he serves as a forensic expert for the Swedish police. This fall he will participate in a number of public events. He also will lead discussions and classes with students, faculty and staff on campus.
