The concert is free and open to the public.
Musicians from Bethany College and the Lindsborg Community Orchestra will perform Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, “New World.” By far his most popular symphony, Dvorak’s “New World” contains Native American and African-American musical influences, which he heard in America and used as a central theme for this symphony.
The orchestra is conducted by Richard Koshgarian, who also conducts the chancel choir at First Presbyterian Church in Salina, Kan., and serves as the musical director for the Salina Theatre. The 33-piece orchestra is made up of Bethany students and members of the community.
