Guest organist to perform at Bethany College

Organist and Bethany alumnus Kyle Johnson will perform a lecture recital on Sunday, November 15.

The community is invited to attend the event, held at 4 p.m. in Presser Hall on the Bethany College campus.

Johnson, a 1995 graduate, currently studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance while also serving as the director of music and community arts at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Logan Square in Chicago, Ill. His doctorial dissertation involves the history of the organs at Bethany College. The lecture recital on Nov. 15 will be based on his research of the various programs that have been presented early in the history of the college.

Johnson also holds a Master of Music degree in organ performance from Indiana University. Prior to his appointment at St. Luke’s, he served as an adjunct assistant professor of music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
