Bethany College Handbell Ensemble tours in Iowa, Nebraska

Bethany Handbell Ensemble 09-101The Bethany College Handbell Ensemble will tour in Iowa and Nebraska February 5-7. The tour will include stops in Alta, Lake View and Okoboji, Iowa as well as Lincoln, Neb.

The handbell ensemble is an auditioned ensemble open to students across campus. The purpose of this ensemble is to learn and perfect ringing techniques, to improve ensemble playing, and to explore new and exciting repertoire. The knowledge gained from this ensemble will help to prepare students to serve as handbell directors and ringers in their communities.

The group performs at the annual Jultide concert and Christmas Vespers service as well as at area churches. In addition, the Bethany College Handbell Ensemble has performed concerts in Minneapolis, Kan., and Colby, Kan. The ensemble has twice been selected to perform at the Kansas Music Educators Association Conference in Wichita, Kan., where they will perform on February 27.
