Student earns athletic award

Bethany College has awarded Skyler Titus Jones, New Orleans, LA., a performance award in football for the academic year of 2010-2011.

Jones is the son of Patrice Hagens and Jerry Jones. He previously attended Richardson High School. At Bethany, he plans to study criminal justice.

Performance awards are granted to students who show proficiency in a sport or fine art and contribute to campus life by participating in intercollegiate athletics, music, visual arts or theatre.

Performance awards and scholarships are renewable for up to four years if specific academic standards continue to be met.

Bethany College competes in 15 intercollegiate sports in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Since 1902, Bethany has won 147 conference championships.
