Bethany College will premiere a morning prayer service on October 1 during a special convocation. The service was written by the 2010-2011 Pearson Distinguished Professor of Swedish Studies Per Harling. The event will take place at 10 a.m. in Presser Hall.
“We are very much looking forward to this event. When preparing for Per’s arrival, we asked for him to write a morning prayer service for Bethany and what he has written fits our spiritual community perfectly,” said Campus Pastor Noni Strand.
This event is free and open to the public.
Harling specializes in composing liturgical music and has written several books on worship life, hymns and biographies. In addition to teaching and working with Bethany students, staff and faculty, he has participated in several public events and chapel services and will preside over his folk dance mass on October 9.
