Swede Volleyball thinks pink

Swedes volleyball will think pink this month as they support breast cancer awareness.

The team will host “Dig for the Cure” night on October 26 during their match against Southwestern College. The team will sport pink uniforms and honor individual survivors.  “The team’s participation in this event is exciting. For me, it’s personal because my sister is a breast cancer survivor. We are grateful to help support research that’s finding a cure for breast cancer,” said Head Volleyball Coach Nathalea Stephenson.

To raise money for this cause, the team is currently selling t-shirts with all proceeds going directly toward breast cancer research. Interested supporters should contact Stephenson at (785) 227-3380, ext. 8332.

The Swedes are currently 3-7 in conference play with their next conference match at McPherson College on October 7 at 7 p.m.

Bethany College competes in 15 intercollegiate sports in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Since 1902, Bethany has won 147 conference championships.
