Bethany College student Kayla Bell, Tipton Mo., has received the Bethany College Outstanding Senior in Chemistry award from the local section of the American Chemical Society. Bell was nominated by Loranelle Lockyear, associate professor of chemistry, and Mark McDonald, associate professor of biology.
Lockyear says, “We nominated Kayla Bell because she has been an excellent student in all of the chemistry classes she has taken. She has also been involved in the Partners in Scholarship program with me for the last two years. She has been very involved in work study with me, as well, and she represents the work ethic and professionalism I’d like to see in all of the seniors in Chemistry.”
The award consisted of a certificate and a check for $100. Bell graduated this May summa cum laude with majors in biology and chemistry.
