Editor of Student Newspaper Announced

LINDSBORG, KAN., October 20, 2011—Bethany College announces freshman Lexxy Baietto as the editor of the Bethany Messenger, the campus student-produced newspaper. The Messenger is released every two weeks.

Baietto is a biology major from Lincoln, Kan. She says her goal for the Messenger is to get more student readership of the newspaper. She will do this through quality news reporting, personal story-telling, and reader engagement. Baietto will manage a staff of at least six students to work on the newspaper layout, sports writing, narratives, comics, columns, and features. Baietto is also involved with theatre and the dance team at Bethany.

Baietto attended Lincoln High School, where she was also involved with the student newspaper. Baietto says she chose to attend Bethany “because of the small town atmosphere and the caring faculty and community.” She was also impressed with the “pre-med curriculum and high acceptance rates of Bethany graduates into medical school.”
