College hosts Central Kansas League Music Festival

LINDSBORG, KAN., February 22, 2012—The Bethany College Music Department will host the Central Kansas League Music Festival on February 29 for approximately 800 high school band, choir, and orchestra students from Haven, Halstead, Hillsboro, Hesston, Lyons, Smoky Valley, Sterling, Pratt, Nickerson, and Kingman.

Assistant Professor of Music Jared Chase said, “This is a great way to get a lot of students on campus from all backgrounds who share a common love for music. Plus they can experience Bethany’s hospitality when they see our campus, eat in our cafeteria, and interact with our faculty and students.”

Students will perform solos or in ensembles and receive ratings from judges. Performances will take place in Stroble-Gibson Gymnasium, Presser Hall, Burnett Theatre, Messiah Church, and Bethany Lutheran Church.
