Athletic Training Students Receive Honors

LINDSBORG, KAN., March 22, 2012—Six Bethany College athletic training students were honored by the Kansas Athletic Trainers Society (KATS) for their outstanding academic achievement during the 2011 spring and fall semesters.

Andrew Westbrook, Canton, Kan., Ashley Conrad, Gillette, Wyo., and Cortni Decker, Washington, Kan., received First-Team All-Academic honors.

Elissa Stein, Gypsum, Kan., received Second-Team All-Academic honors.

Jon Followill, Newalla, Okla., and Eric Brown, Topeka, Kan., received Honorable Mention All-Academic honors.

First-team and second-team honorees must be full-time juniors or seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.8 and 3.6, respectively. Honorable mention honorees must have full-time sophomore or higher status with a minimum GPA of 3.4.

To be eligible for nomination, students must be rated by their program directors at 4 out of 5 or higher in the clinical performance, be submitted by Program Directors from accredited athletic training programs, be fully accepted into the professional phase of the athletic training program, and be full-time undergraduate students for the fall the spring semesters of the preceding academic year.
