LINDSBORG, Kan., April 30, 2012—The Bethany College Chapel Choir, Vokala Lejon (Men’s Ensemble), Chamber Choir, and College Choir will perform the last choral concert of the season, “On the Lighter Side,” on May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Presser Auditorium.
This concert is free and open to the public. The theme of the concert is loosely interpreted around light-hearted, spirited, tongue-in-cheek selections and even a piece that references light directly in “Lux Aurumque” (Light and Gold) by Eric Whitacre.
The Chapel Choir is conducted by Associate Professor of Music (piano) Daniel Masterson, D.M.A. They will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Walter Pelz, and John Foley as well as arrangements set by Masterson.
Vokala Lejon, Chamber Choir, and College Choir are conducted by Assistant Professor of Music (vocal and choral) Jeffery Wall, D.M.A. They will perform a variety of genres including traditional choral favorites, southern gospel, contemporary a cappella, jazz, musical theater, and multicultural music.
