LINDSBORG, KAN., April 30, 2012—Bethany College senior artist Hannah Wilson, Lyndon, Kan., will exhibit her senior art show, “Of All the Rights of Women,” at the Mingenback Art Center at Bethany on May 3 to May 8.
A reception in her honor will be held on Sunday, May 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a gallery talk by the artist at 2:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
The exhibition is a retrospective of Wilson’s four years at Bethany. The works will include various paintings, drawings, prints, and ceramic pieces. Wilson focuses on the similarities and relationships of nature and women with an emphasis on color and space.
Wilson is majoring in art education: preK-12 and studio art: painting. She spent the fall semester student teaching in McPherson Elementary Schools and Salina High Central
The Mingenback Art Center, located on the corner of Olsson and Second Street on the Bethany College campus, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily during the academic year. Mingenback houses the premier center for art instruction in the region and a gallery devoted to the work of regional artists, Bethany college students, and alumni. The Bethany College Art Department recognizes that open and rigorous inquiry is essential to a liberal-arts education.
