LINDSBORG, KAN., January 14, 2013— Bethany College at MindFire Academy will hold an open house at its recently completed facility at 3805 East Harry Street in the west end of the Office This building from 2 to 5 p.m., this Sunday, January 20, 2013, preceding its January 28 start of classes.
The event is open to the public and will feature tours of classrooms, sound studios and the area’s largest film studio.
MindFire Academy will offer certificated career education programs for 3D animation, digital filmmaking, recording arts and web design. Many classes will be accredited by Bethany College thanks to a unique partnership between the two institutions that combines liberal arts education with technical career training. Each certificate is earned by completing four to five seven-week class sessions, totaling 12 to 15 credit hours, and all credits will be transferrable to other higher education institutions.
“The skills students learn in these programs will prepare them for a variety of industries,” said MindFire Administrator Jason Opat. “The demand for high-quality audio and video content is always rising. It’s used everywhere from theater screens to shopping aisles, and someone has to create all that content. The modeling and animation skills we teach are used in movies, smart phone applications, training videos, even in CSI labs to simulate crime scene data. And, of course, web design can be a career without a ceiling, once you have the education.”
