Bethany College at MindFire Academy will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and news conference at 3805 East Harry Street in the west end of the Office This building from 11 a.m. to noon, January 11, 2013, to officially announce the school’s January 28 start of classes.
Bethany President Edward F. Leonard III and MindFire Administrator Jason Opat will cut the ceremonial ribbon, then give a tour of the MindFire facility, which will include classrooms, sound studios, the area’s largest film studio and a motion capture demonstration.
MindFire Academy will offer career education programs for 3D animation, digital filmmaking, audio production and web design. Many classes will be accredited by Bethany College thanks to a unique partnership between the two institutions that will combine liberal arts education with technical career training.
Bethany College at MindFire Academy will initially offer six certificates: 3-D Computer Modeling, 3-D Computer Animation, Digital Filmmaking, Digital Documentary Filmmaking, Web Design and Recording Arts. Each certificate is earned by completing four to five seven-week class sessions, totaling 12 to 15 credit hours.
Two student open house events will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013, and Sunday, January 20, 2013.
