Jan. 11 news conference marks opening of Bethany College at MindFire Academy

Bethany College at MindFire Academy will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and news conference at 3805 East Harry Street in the west end of the Office This building from 11 a.m. to noon, January 11, 2013, to officially announce the school’s January 28 start of classes.

Bethany President Edward F. Leonard III and MindFire Administrator Jason Opat will cut the ceremonial ribbon, then give a tour of the MindFire facility, which will include classrooms, sound studios, the area’s largest film studio and a motion capture demonstration.

Bethany College President to share upcoming ventures on Jan. 11

Bethany College President Edward F. Leonard III welcomes members of the community to Presser Hall on Jan. 11 at 5 p.m. where he will share exciting ventures for the college in 2013.

“Bethany has made many exciting announcements in 2012, such as our partnership with MindFire Academy in Wichita and a new twist on our Messiah Festival of the Arts featuring soloists from the American Spiritual Ensemble,” says Leonard. “I invite the community to hear more about these and other ventures as well as receive an update on the J. E. and L. E. Mabee Foundation challenge grant for the Bud Pearson Swedish Chapel and Welcome Center.”

A reception will follow Leonard’s presentation in Nelson 116, the new student-run coffee shop, located in room 116 of Nelson Science Center.
