Seven Bethany College band students have been selected to participate in the 2013 Kansas Intercollegiate Band, which will take perform at the Kansas Music Educators Association Conference in Wichita on February 21 and 22.
Students who will be participating include Marcy Erb, clarinet, Moundridge, Kan.; Braden Bruntzel, horn, Jamestown, Kan.; Samantha Andersen, horn, Waterville, Kan.; Jacob Johannsen, trombone, Lindsborg, Kan.; Breana Curtis, oboe, Peetz, Colo.; Meghan Klaassen, trombone, Marquette, Kan.; and Kaleb Feist, tuba, Salina, Kan.
The KIB is made up of students from colleges all over Kansas who have been nominated by their band directors. After two days of rehearsal at the KMEA Conference, they will perform in concert on Friday, Feb. 22, at 2:45 p.m. on the stage of Century II.
The guest clinician for the 2013 KIB is Gary Green, director of bands of the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, Fla.
