Bethany was featured today, World Water Day, in an article from the Billion Dollar Green Challenge that highlights college campuses with sustainability projects related to water.
Bethany’s seven hydration stations, where you can fill reusable bottles with filtered water, were included. Each station tracks water consumed and disposable bottles saved, which totals 5,101 liters per month and 10,000 liters of water not used in the production of the plastic bottles.
Funding for the hydration station was made possible by Bethany’s Green Revolving Fund. “We chose this project as the first one to fund from our green revolving fund because it would impact students in their daily lives and would make the revolving fund more visible,” says Campus Pastor Noni Strand, who leads the Green Team that evaluates Green Fund proposals.
