On Saturday, March 23, the Bethany campus will gather in Nelson 116 coffee shop at 8:30 p.m. for lantern-lit activities in honor of Earth Hour. Turn off the lights before you leave and come join for snacks, games, and a great atmosphere!
Earth Hour is a global effort to reduce carbon waste by collectively turning off the lights for an entire hour. This project is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund and is nine years in the making. On March 23 at 8:30 p.m. local time, hundreds of millions of people will turn off their lights in order to show their unity in their desire to reduce energy consumption and therefore the impact that it has on the environment. This symbolic action might lead to the consciousness of energy reduction for many around the globe as well as impact people to not only reduce their consumption for that one day but also continually be aware of their energy usage and how it affects the world we live in.
