I enjoy NFL football during the season, and I like the Big Bang Theory, the Venture Brothers, and a host of cartoons.
What is one thing you wish everybody knew about you?
Even though I’m a geek, I’m really edgy and totally cool.

Watching students develop into young professionals.
If you could describe your teaching style in one word, what would it be?
What three things would you want all students to know or do?
1. Read the textbook. I mean really read it. 2. Work as many problems as possible, and don’t wait for me to assign them. 3. Come to office hours as often as possible.
What makes your academic area important?
You have to understand basic chemical principles to be able to learn how biological systems work. Also, a reasonable understanding of chemistry will help you be a more conscientious consumer – so you can read the ingredient list and actually have an idea of what all that stuff is.
