On Saturday, April 5, three Bethany students, Jerilee Cameron, Osborne, Kan.; Sarah Hill, Hermann, Mo.; and Sarah Peterson, Garfield, Kan., presented research at the 14th annual Newman University Literary Festival.
In early April, Bethany College hosted the joint spring conference for faculty members from teacher educator programs at Kansas Board of Regents colleges and universities as well as Kansas private institutions.
At its annual Alumni Recognition Banquet on March 23, Bethany College honored five outstanding alumni including Stanley Hays, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; Dr. Kipp Van Camp, Topeka, Kan.; Tad Doering, Apex, N.C.; Kathryn (Segerhammar) Swanson, Fort Collins, Colo.; and Kenneth and Marilyn (Miller) Sjogren, Lindsborg, Kan.
Bethany College has named 190 students to its fall 2012 Academic Dean’s Honor Roll. To be recognized, a student must be full-time with a semester grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4-point scale for the fall semester. Honored students and their hometowns are as follows.
The show is a compilation of Himes’ four years at Bethany College and will contain paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking. A reception will be held on Sunday, April 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a gallery talk by the artist at 2:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
