On July 29, Lindsborg received 4 to 5 inches of rain in only an hour, causing flash flooding to an estimated 125 houses resulting in $2.5 million in damages. Bethany experienced some flooding but was very fortunate.
Water flowed into areas of some basements, but there was no buildup and Campus Facilities was equipped to handle the resulting patches of wet carpets and floors. The Facilities crew was able to remove the water and begin drying out the flooring without interruption to normal operations.
Several groups including the athletics department have been helping residents clean up. The campus’ thoughts and prayers continue to go out to our Swede families and the entire Lindsborg community as they continue to recover from the flood.
