Kay exhibits “Nature Remains” at MindFire Academy gallery

Nature Remains exhibition

In July, Bethany College @ Mindfire Academy hosted “Nature Remains” by Professor of Art Mary Kay. The exhibition depicted a grouping of objects and images from her many walks along the Smoky Hill River and surrounding areas. A closing reception was held on the July 26 Final Friday.

Kay received her Master of Fine Art from Yale University and teaches printmaking, painting, and drawing at Bethany. Originally from the United Kingdom, Kay has shown extensively across the U.S.

Along with Kay, Mark D. Pendergrass was available during the reception to give tours of his murals within the MindFire facility documenting humorous adaptations of famous movie posters. Pendergrass is a well-known Wichita muralist with many signs and wall paintings around the city.

The gallery is located at 3805 East Harry, Suite 105, and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enrollment is currently open for classes with Bethany College at MindFire Academy. To learn more, visit www.bethanylb.edu/mindfire.
