Students elected to Swede Government Association

Eight Bethany College students have been selected by their peers to serve as freshman class officers and hall representatives in the Swede Government Association (SGA), Bethany’s student congress, for the 2013-2014 academic year. They join ten other members who were elected last spring as well as representatives from the Student Activities Board, Greek Council, the Messenger, and the Multicultural Student Union.

Duties of class officers include voicing the concerns of classmates at weekly meetings and serving on sub-committees. Duties of hall representatives include bringing problems, information, suggestions, and inquiries from the students they represent to SGA and informing SGA of activities in each hall.

New members to the 2013-2014 Swede Government Association include Freshman Class President Jordan Fanciullo, a criminal justice and pre-law major from Lee’s Summit, Mo.; Freshman Class Vice President Orlando Saenz, a criminal justice major from San Antonio, Texas; ASH Hall Representative Nick Escalera, a theatre and communications major with an emphasis in communications from Riverside, Calif.; Anna Marm Hall Representative Kylee Ayres, an art major from Salina, Kan.; Gregory Hall Representative Ryan Clark, a biology major from McPherson, Kan.; Warner Hall Representative Cally Albers, a history/secondary education major from Oakley, Kan.; Swede Suites Representative Jenna Sickenius, a literature and communications major from Longmont, Colo.; and Off Campus Representative Sarah Doering, a film studies major from Apex, N.C.

Executive officers include President Melissa Woeppel, an English and communications major from Firth, Neb; Executive Vice President Brianna Hoffman, a business and sports management major from Larned, Kan.; Vice President of Communications Krista Akers, an English and psychology major from Topeka, Kan.; and Vice President of Finance Lauren von Klinggraeff, a biology major from Aurora, Colo.

Class officers include Senior Class President Caitlyn Ziegler, a marketing and finance major from Salina, Kan.; Senior Class Vice President Nichol DeChant, a biology major from Leavenworth, Kan.; Junior Class President Richard Welter, a chemistry and math major from The Colony, Texas; Junior Class Vice President Ashley Glover, a vocal music education major from Emporia, Kan.; Sophomore Class President Lindy Broeckelman, a elementary education major from Beloit, Kan.; and Sophomore Class Vice President Michelle Rambo a criminal justice major from Greenwood, S.C.

Representatives from the major organizations on campus include Student Activities Board Representative Tessa Peters, a psychology major from Palmer, Kan.; Greek Council Representative Misha Zhilin, an international management and finance major from Rostov-on-Don, Russia; and Messenger Representative Elizabeth Ford, a theatre and communications major with an emphasis in theatre from Effingham, Kan.
