Education Department to host accreditation visit

From Oct. 13 to 16, the Education Department will host a three-day accreditation visit from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Kansas State Department of Education to pursue state and national validation as an outstanding school of teacher education preparation. Since 1954, Bethany College has been continually accredited by both organizations and has the distinction of being a charter institution of NCATE.

Bethany Auxiliary makes donation to Endowed Scholarship

Bethany Auxiliary Donation

Bethany Auxiliary Treasurer Sheila Leonard and President Carol Gusenius present the Auxiliary’s donation to Bethany College Vice President for Advancement Galen Bunning.

Bethany Auxiliary made a recent donation to the Bethany Auxiliary Endowed Scholarship, bringing its total giving to more than $50,000.

Bethany Auxiliary is an organization that has supported Bethany since 1961. All fundraising project proceeds are donated to the endowed scholarship funds of the college. Projects include Student Care Packages, which loved ones may send to their students on campus, and the “Measure for Pleasure” cookbook or CD available at Swede Nation Station and several downtown Lindsborg locations.

Lucas directs choir clinic for young men in Arizona

Mark LucasAssociate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities Mark Lucas, Ph.D., directed a clinic on Monday, Sept. 23, for the young men attending the Gilbert school district in Phoenix, Ariz.

The clinic, titled “Real Men Sing – Gilbert,” concluded with a concert open to the public. The clinic stemmed from the Young Men’s Vocal Workshop that Lucas founded while teaching at the University of Oklahoma.

Pigge attends NAIA Council of Presidents

Pigge is the chair of the NAIA National Coordinating Committee and ex-officio member of the Council of Presidents.
