Dr. Douglas has been an Assistant Professor and Department Chair of Psychology at Bethany College since 2006, where she teaches General Psychology, The Psychology Major, Statistics, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Learning.  She has also taught courses for Wichita State University, University of Phoenix Online, and Upward Bound Math/Science.

Dr. Douglas earned a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Psychology with a minor in Math, a M.A. in Experimental Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Community/Clinical Psychology, all from Wichita State University. Her research interests include student perceptions of cheating, human/companion animal attachment and relinquishment, and student perceptions of teaching effectiveness. She has co-chaired the Southwestern Psychological Association Annual Convention, and presented papers, posters, and symposia at various research conferences.

Dr. Douglas is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for Teaching Psychology (Division 2, APA), Society for Community Research and Action, Southwestern Psychological Association, Society for Applied Multivariate Research, and Psi Chi, National Honor Society in Psychology.

Currently, Dr. Douglas volunteers as a consultant for the Branch Community Garden in Lindsborg, Kan., and as a Fellowship Committee member at University Friends Church in Wichita, Kan.. She is also a Master Gardener and volunteers with special events at the Kansas Humane Society. She chairs the Assessment Subcommittee at Bethany, and is a member of the Teaching Education Committee and the Online Course Committee.

Her main hobby is her incredibly fascinating, amazingly perfect 22-month-old grandson, and she also enjoys spending time with her husband, two cats and her extended family.
