Biography:
Blair Martin has been a Professor of Music Education and Director of Bands in Kansas, Michigan and Illinois. He has taught full time classroom music, band, and choir at the K-12 level and has served as an adjunct at the collegiate level in Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee and The Bahamas. He is an active solo, ensemble, and concert band adjudicator in Kansas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. He is currently Principal Tuba with the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra as well as the Director of the Hutchinson Municipal Band. He also plays trombone with the Southwinds Swing Jazz Dance Band and tuba in the R-n-R Dixieland Band. In addition to his musical career, Blair is a Consultant with Kansas Life, a seniors-oriented brokerage company based in Hutchinson. He lives in Sterling, Kansas with his wife Mary, who is the manager of the Sterling Services Call Center. They have one son, Tim, a senior at Sterling High School, and two Fox Terriers, Ozark and Hoosier.
