Biography:
Jeffery Wall is the Elmer F. Pierson Distinguished Professor of Music at Bethany College. He serves as Director of Choral and Vocal Activities and conducts the Bethany Choir, the Chamber Singers, and the Bethany Oratorio Chorus for the annual Messiah Festival. Additionally, he teaches courses in choral pedagogy and conducting, aural skills, applied voice, and other vocal music classes.
Dr. Wall is in demand as a conductor, teacher, clinician, and adjudicator. He has experience in collegiate, high school, professional, community, and church settings. He has served as Visiting Director of Choral Activities at Georgia State University in Atlanta and Director of Choral & Vocal Activities at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM.
He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree from the University of South Carolina, M.M. from The University of Tennessee, and a B.M. from Texas Tech University.
As a graduate teaching assistant at the University of South Carolina, he premiered and directed the University Carolers, he directed many of the other choirs, taught music theory, aural skills, music appreciation, and instrumental conducting. At the University of Tennessee, he was conductor of the U.T. Women’s Chorus. He also taught grades 7-12 in the public schools of Lubbock, TX.
Dr. Wall is married to his high school sweetheart and they have one fur-child (a chocolate Labrador retriever named Dolcé).
