The faculty and students of the art department invite you to be a part of the arts in action at Bethany College. Whether seeking a traditional studio art experience, becoming an art therapist, working in business or within a museum, seeking to communicate visually via the web or print as a designer we have the tools and faculty to help you succeed. Our alumni reside across the country in such places as Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Wichita, and Omaha to name a few. They are artists, graphic designers, print makers, photographers, therapists, educators, business leaders, gallery owners and even film makers. We have several majors to choose from and new facilities to help you expand your horizons, as well as, create and exhibit unique works of art within our two main art galleries. Professor of Art Mary Kay has been at Bethany College since 1989.  She teaches painting, drawing and printmaking.

Kay’s work has been shown in a variety of one-person and group exhibits, including Grand Arts Kansas City, Mo., the Salina Arts Center Salina, Kan., and the Mallin Gallery Kansas City Artists Coalition, Kan.  She has also given numerous gallery talks and lectures.

Kay received her Master of Fine Art in painting from the Yale School of Art and her Master of Art in painting from Goldsmiths’ College at London University.  She earned Bachelor of Arts Honors in fine art from Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, United Kingdom.
