Lucas McCormick, Ph.D.

Biography

Lucas McCormick is an assistant professor of chemistry and has been a member of the faculty since 2013.

At Bethany College, McCormick teaches general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and participates in the Bethany Quest and Interdisciplinary programs.  In addition he has an interest in sustainability, and is active in campus green projects.

Previously, McCormick was a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Kansas where he obtained his doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry.  His graduate research has been published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry.  A native of Emporia Kan., he earned his bachelor’s in chemistry from Emporia State University.
