The Business Career Conference is held biennially and gives Bethany students the opportunity to learn from and interact with successful Bethany alumni.
Distinguished Lectureship Series
The Mauney Lecture Series brings distinguished scholars and business leaders who give their perspectives on current topics through public lectures, classroom presentations, discussions and one-on-one conversations with students.
Directed Independent Studies
Students have the opportunity to work with faculty to design interesting and practical courses that give students skills and knowledge in particular areas.
An important part of your business studies at Bethany College are the professional and leadership opportunities offered through the Business Club. This group makes annual tours to major business centers and provides presentations to the campus by business professionals.

Associate Professor Gail R. Konzem has served on the education department faculty since 2006, joining Bethany College after 33 years as a teacher and administrator in USD305, Salina, Kansas. Professor Konzem became chair of the department in 2010, and has served on numerous committees at the college.
Professor Konzem graduated from Marymount College in Salina in 1973 with a double major in Music Education K-12, and Elementary Education. He received his Master of Science degree in Educational Administration from Kansas State University in 1976. Professor Konzem was recognized as Outstanding Young Educator by the Jaycees in 1980. He has served on numerous boards in the Salina community for many years including member of the board and past president of CAPS (Childrens and Parents Services), and member of the board and past president of Salina Education Foundation. He has participated as a committee member for a number of other associations and organizations in Salina, as well as on the steering committee for Smoky Valley Vision_Tek in Lindsborg, Kansas. He is past Secretary of KACTE (Kansas Association of Colleges of Teacher Education), and continues to serve on the executive leadership team for the association.
Gail and his wife Cheryl are active members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Salina, serving on numerous committees over the years and as musicians in the parish. They are the parents of two sons, Ryan,( daughter-in-law Lisa and granddaughters, Michaela and Dakota) of Gardner, Kansas and Shane, (daughter-in-law Mandy and grandsons, Sean, Braden, Joshua and Izaac) of Hoisington, Kansas.
During the Spring of 2015, Professor and Mrs. Konzem spent the semester at Harlaxton College near Grantham, England, while he was on sabbatical. While there, Professor Konzem taught Teacher Preparation courses, completed research regarding the British Education System and traveled extensively. The International Studies program, named the #1 Study Abroad Program in the United States, is owned by the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. Bethany College is one of about two dozen partner colleges and universities from across the United States who participate in this in this program. Professor Konzem was selected as one of nine visiting faculty members from these partner institutions during this semester. The visiting faculty members serve along side six British Faculty who provide a British Studies curriculum to some 175 students from the United States.
