Biography

Robert Carlson is a professor of business at Bethany College. He has been a member of the faculty since 1983 and is the Business Department Chair.

Carlson has been owner and manager of an accounting, tax and consulting business in Lindsborg since 1975. He is a Certified Tax Professional by the National Society of Tax Professionals.  He earned his M.B.A and a B.S.B. in business administration and management, both from Emporia State University.

He has done additional study at Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Emporia State University and Augsburg College Mexico Global Study Seminar. Prior to working at Bethany College, he has taught at Emporia State University and Garden City Community College.

Carlson has previous business experience with the U.S. Small Business Administration in Wichita, Kan., Pool and Sinnard C.P.A.s, Gigot Enterprises and Amoco division of Standard Oil.

Carlson is professionally affiliated with, among others, the Midwest Finance Association, McPherson County Economic Development Committee, National Federation of Independent Business and Smoky Valley Development Company.
