Bethany College Special Collections Policy
The Bethany College Special Collections consist of the Archives, Swedish Library, and Rare Books. They contain the records relevant primarily, to the history and heritage of Bethany College, and secondarily, to the wider Lindsborg/Smoky Valley region. They support research of the Bethany College community and the public. The Collections are under the direction of the Archivist, who is charged with acquiring, de-accessioning, arranging, describing, preserving, and providing access to the Collections, following sound archival principals.

Research in the Archives

Researchers are welcome to make an appointment at least a week in advance to visit and use the archives. Users who make an appointment to visit the archives may see fee schedule for duplications services below.

For those users who do not visit the archives, research packages will be available for the charges listed below. These charges will only be applied if research is successful. Due to staffing limitations, please be aware that archive research requests may not be filled immediately. Even so, the archives staff will continue to communicate throughout the research process.

Bethany Archives Package            $5.00
This package includes up to 30 minutes of research time, an email detailing search results, and up to 10 copies. Further research time and duplication services will be charged according to fee schedule below.

Church Archives Package            $5.00
This package includes up to 30 minutes of research time, an email detailing search results, and up to 10 copies. Further research time and duplication services will be charged according to fee schedule below.

Monies collected for archives services are used to better preserve the history and enhance the usability of the artifacts of Bethany College and the Central States Synod.
