The group performs frequent run-out concerts and church services throughout the Midwest and embarks on more lengthy tours during interterm on alternate years. Bethany Brass performs two full length concerts per year. Audition is required. There are also other small brass chamber groups which include trombone choir, brass quintet, and trombone/euphonium quartets.
Claudio Re, Ph.D., is an advocate for universal music literacy, believing that enduring relationships with music and other arts strengthens all relationships, personal as well as professional, and provides avenues for expression of the artistic self that is inherent in each of us. His strong beliefs about the enduring benefits of music’s relationship with the community come from his Italian heritage and long association with Italian community bands
Re received a diploma in trombone performance from the Luca Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia, Italy, a Master of Art in instrumental conducting from the University of Northern Iowa, where he studied with Dr. Ronald Johnson, and his doctorate in musicology from the University of Florida.
