Pre-K -12 Art Teaching Mission (BA):         

The Bethany College Art Department along with the Education Department strives to instill art teaching candidates with the knowledge base, teaching skills, well and the professional attitudes and values necessary to become exceptional, reflective art teachers.

Student Learning Outcome :

The student will achieve the knowledge and skills to pass the Kansas State Standardized Performance Test for the Content of Art. 

Visual Art Administration Mission (BA):
The Visual Art Administration Major prepares students with the understanding and the ability to apply knowledge in the visual arts and related business practices for leadership roles in the arts community.

Student Learning Outcome:
The student will gain an understanding of the role of the art administrator and their responsibilities to the organization.

Pre-Professional Art Therapy Mission (BA):
The Pre-Professional Art Therapy Major prepares students with an understanding and the ability to apply knowledge in visual arts and psychology.

Student Learning Outcome:
1. The student will gain an understanding of the role art therapy can play in this placement.
2. The student will gain an understanding of the application of art as a therapeutic practice.

Studio Art Mission (BA):
The Studio Art Major prepares students with the intensive studio art experience necessary for professional artistic practice.

Student Learning Outcome:
Through the exploration of subject, the student develops themes, forms, and content that they bring to the creation of a body of work.

Interactive Graphic Design Mission (BA):
The Interactive Graphic Design Major prepares students with the ability and software knowledge to create fully functional and interactive electronic based artworks delivered via the internet which demonstrate proficiency in the use of typography, image, and design theory to deliver content.

Student Learning Outcome:
1. The student will demonstrate proficiency in the use of typography and image to deliver pre-determined content.
2. The student will demonstrate proficiency in the use of engaging electronic delivery methods and web site development.
