Bethany College Art Department will host an exhibit featuring the artwork of Holly Phelps, senior, of Wichita. The exhibition, including paintings, drawings, ceramics, and sculpture, runs through May 1 at the Mingenback Art Gallery located at the corner of Second and Olsson in Lindsborg, Kan. An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, April 27 at 2 p.m. with a gallery talk at 2:30 p.m.
Phelps is exhibiting paintings and drawings from her four years at Bethany. Her show, “Raw Essence” incorporates her own essence of beauty through nature and people. Her main work is multiple portraits done of fellow Bethany College students, staff, and faculty. Phelps is the daughter of the Chuck Phelps and Rachel Blough.
The gallery is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
Works of art by 28 student artists are currently on display as part of the Bethany College Messiah Festival Juried Student Art Exhibition. The annual art exhibition will continue through April 23 in the Mingenback Art Center Gallery on the Bethany campus.
The exhibition features 3-D explorations, ceramics, design, drawings, paintings, photography, printmaking and sculpture created by Bethany students currently taking art classes. Winners were announced on April 13 at a reception held in the gallery. The gallery show is free and open to the public. The Mingenback Art Center Gallery is open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Messiah Student Art Exhibition begins Saturday, April 12 at the Mingenback Art Center on Bethany College campus. An awards ceremony and reception will be held on Sunday, April 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. with awards given at 1:30 p.m. The exhibit will run through April 24.
Jurors for the exhibit are Linda Ganstrom, professor of art from Fort Hays State University and Teresa Schmidt, professor of art from Kansas State University.
The Bethany College Art Department invites the public to its annual art sale on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Community Room of Bank of America in Lindsborg.
Bethany College senior artist Angela Dvorak will exhibit her senior art show, “I Draw the Line,” at Mingenback Art Center on campus from Dec. 7 to 11.
A reception will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a gallery talk by the artist at 2:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Many works will be for sale.
Bethany College @ MindFire Academy will host exhibitions of University of Kansas Art Professor Norman Akers’ color prints and Bethel College Art Professor David Long’s ceramics at its art gallery at 3805 E. Harry, Suite 105, in Wichita, Kan., until Final Friday on Nov. 22 when a closing reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Bethany College Autumn Student Art Exhibition will be on display at Mingenback Art Center from Nov. 11 to 22.
This event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Bethany College Art Department, the show features works by students currently enrolled in art classes. The diverse exhibit showcases a variety of styles and different types of work, including ceramics, crafts, design, drawing, painting, and sculpture.
Professor of Art A. Mary Kay and Associate Professor of Art Frank Shaw will exhibit selections of recent work from Oct. 4 to Nov. 1 at the Erman B. White Gallery at Butler Community College in Eldorado, Kan. A reception to meet the artists will be held on Oct. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Visiting artist Dukno Yoon will exhibit “Wings: Kinetic Jewelry & Sculpture” at Bethany College from Sept. 16 to 27 in Mingenback Art Center.
The exhibition includes a closing reception and gallery talk on Sept. 27 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the gallery.
