Bethany College and local sponsors welcome soloists from the American Spiritual Ensemble to the 132nd Messiah Festival of the Arts, which includes the longest running “Messiah” performance in North America.
The first rehearsal takes place on Sunday, January 27, in Presser Hall. New singers should arrive on at 2 p.m. in for vocal placement. No prepared song is necessary. Singers who have participated before should arrive at 3 p.m. for rehearsal.
Regular rehearsals will be on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m.
Priority tickets to the annual performances of Handel’s “Messiah” and Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion” go on sale Jan. 1 with general admission starting Feb. 15. By ordering priority seating tickets, patrons can save their seats from last year or have first choice at new seats. Continue reading

LINDSBORG, KAN., March 29, 2012—A book signing will be held for Karen A. Humphrey’s biography “Grace, Faith, and the Power of Singing: The Alma Christina Lind Swensson Story” about the young woman who taught Lindsborg to sing and established Bethany College’s annual Messiah Festival of the Arts.
The signing and reception will be held on Saturday, April 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. inside the “Lindsborg Collects” temporary exhibition at 113 N. Main Street in downtown Lindsborg. All book sale proceeds during the afternoon benefit the Messiah Festival of the Arts at Bethany College. Continue reading
