At the completion of the second annual Thank-A-Thon, Bethany College can be proud of the relationship between students and donors. The Thank-A-Thon is an annual February event developed by the alumni office in collaboration with the student congress and the class officers. Students write as many thank you cards as they can to donors whose names are provided by the alumni office. This year, students wrote 482 cards, more than double the amount from last year. Sixty-eight percent of sophomores participated, and the class won the contest for the most cards written with a total of 162. Beth Prier, sophomore biology major, led her class to victory with 60 personal thank you cards. The junior and freshmen classes also wrote more than 100 cards each. According to Jennifer Greenup, alumni director, the Thank-A-Thon is to show that there are real people on both the receiving and giving ends of a financial gift. “It’s about making the connection,” she said.
