Summary of Admission Process

Invitations to apply to the Athletic Training Program are sent out in the spring to all students who meet the criteria of 2.5 G.P.A. or higher and current enrollment in or completion of the required prerequisite courses with a  "B" or higher in each class.  Application consists of submitting the application form and two letters of recommendation.  A committee consisting of the Program Director, Head Athletic Trainer, and a student representative then evaluates completed applications.  The evaluation process includes ranking the applicants with regard to their G.P.A, application quality, and recommendations.  Selected applicants may then be interviewed by the committee to determine program admission.

Notification of acceptance into the program is made once grades have been posted by the Registrar’s office.   Students begin their clinical experience during the fall of their sophomore year.  The number of students admitted varies depending on size of the graduating class. Students will typically begin their clinical experience during the fall of their sophomore year.
