Alpha Sigma Nu

Alpha Sigma Nu is a local fraternity with a proud history at Bethany College. We were founded during the fall semester of 1928, when ten men shared a common goal of starting a new and respected fraternity on our campus. These men formed the second fraternity that is still active at this college, and they established a continuing brotherhood that has prospered ever since.

The first pledge season was held in the spring of 1929. The two men initiated as the first pledge class were Lambert Dahlston and Carl Anderson.

The Nus have always prided themselves in that they are not known as a campus clique; but as a group of individual college men who work with their fraternity to broaden their individual interests and goals.

Rush is the time when we get to know new people and consider asking them to join our fraternity. More importantly, Rush is a time that allows you to get to know us better. By coming to our rush events you can determine if Alpha Sigma Nu is an organization you would really want to join and we can discover if you're a guy that can contribute to and greatly benefit from our brotherhood.

You've heard the stories. You know the legacies. You know the statistics. There are four fraternities at Bethany, but why Alpha Sigma Nu? Our fraternity is not for everyone. We are looking for men with values, who have the ability to carry out responsible and lead successful lives. We are looking for men of great character who want to expand their horizons and make their college and lifetime experiences more fulfilling.

It's difficult to explain to non-Greeks what being a brother is like. It's more than friendship, it's more than helping each other out and it's more than partying. It's being a family. A group of one who live for the love of life and share the same principles. Rush our fraternity and find out what being Greek or more importantly, what being an Alpha Sigma Nu brother is all about.
