WIth a change in leadership in Bethany advancement and alumni offices, Bethany has appointed alumnae Jennifer Greenup as interim alumni director for the college. Jen, a 1984 graduate of Bethany, has been serving as associate director of development since August 2005. Previously, Jen served as Bethany College counselor since 1997.

May 20 Bethany College will honor three graduates—William Swenson, Donald Trued and Verlyn Lindell—with its highest alumni honor: the Award of Merit. The awards will be presented during the annual Bethany College Alumni Recognition Banquet. The banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Pihlblad Memorial Union. More>

| A special thank you to the following alumni who hosted Bethany College Yield Receptions this past spring. Yield receptions are events that give prospective students and their parents an opportunity to visit with alumni in their geographic area. College representatives also are present to answer questions and update alumni on what’s going on at the college. "Visiting with alumni can help prosepctive students make the final decision to attend Bethany. These events yield students. We can't thank alumni enough," said Richard Strange '70, Bethany Coodinator for Alumni Student Recruitment.

| The family and friends of two missionaries have created a Bethany scholarship in the couple’s honor. The Rev. Stanley H. and Madelyn Hassarud Swanson Scholarship was funded by Michael and Rev. Rebekah Swanson Wagner, along with gifts from family and friends. All of the Swanson’s five children are Bethany College alumni, including the Rev. Stephen Swanson, Bethany class of 1967; the Rev. Timothy Swanson, Bethany class of 1969; Susan Swanson Swartz, Bethany class of 1976; the Rev. Rebekah Swanson Wagner, Bethany class of 1976; and Sarah Swanson Bieber, Bethany class of 1984. More> |

Sergeant First Class Martin Tyce, Bethany class of 1989, recently returned to the Bethany campus as special guest artist for the symphonic band's Holy Week concert. Tyce is the trombone section leader of the United States Military Academy Concert Band, West Point, N.Y. More>
