Mission Statement
Alignment with Bethany College and the Board of Certification (BOC)

The Athletic Training Education Program supports the mission of Bethany college to nurture and challenge individuals in their search for truth and meaning. The central focus of the ATEP Mission is competence (up-to-date skills) and character traits essential to be successful in the athletic training profession.

The ATEP also supports the mission of the BOC to “certify athletic trainers and to identify for the public, quality health care professionals through a system of certification, adjudication, standards of practice and continuing competency programs.”

Students are encouraged to acquire and practice each of the Bethany College core values as they practice athletic training skills in the intercollegiate athletics program and other clinical work-sites in the community.

·  Integrity: being honest and direct in communication, as well as accountable and consistent with expectations.
· Hospitality: recognize and value human dignity, mindful that each and every person is a child of God.
· Relationships: emphasize the connections present among individuals and organizations.
· Leadership: engaged in learning how to lead as well as how to serve.
· Sustainability: an understanding of our stewardship for the future and recognizing that our actions and policies may often have long-term implications.
