ED POGUE SCULPTURE PURCHASED BY BUTLER COMMUNITY COLLEGE

A sculpture by Bethany College faculty member Ed Pogue has been purchased by the Butler Community College for placement on the college’s El Dorado campus.
The sculpture, titled “Column of Cohabitation,” was created in May of 2006 and is made of cast bronze and fabricated stainless steel.
Its purchase was made possible by a grant received by Butler Community College  from the Kemper Foundation.
A reception to honor the new acquisition will be held at Butler Community College at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Pogue is an associate professor of art at Bethany. He received his Masters of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University and has taught at several universities and colleges throughout the United States. He is represented by galleries in Utah, Tennessee and Kansas.
Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The mission of Bethany College is to nurture and challenge individuals in their search for truth and meaning as they live lives of faith, learning and service.
