BETHANY COLLEGE TO HOST HONORS DAY
Students who will be freshmen or transfer students in the fall of 2007 will be on Bethany College’s campus Saturday, Feb. 3, to interview for placement in the college’s honors program.
Students are invited who have a minimum of 3.6 GPA and 26 ACT composite score.
Participants will tour the campus, meet with financial aid and admissions representatives, interact with current honor students and attend a mini honors lecture.
Bethany created the honors program to enhance the educational opportunities available to gifted students. Through this program, students can meet their academic potential and serve as role models for other students.
Honors students take two specially designed seminars--one their freshman year and one in their senior year--to increase thinking skills and expose students to a variety of ways of looking at the world.
Honor students also have the opportunity for unique experiences, such as one-on-one research with individual professors and independent projects that allow them to pursue their own ideas and interests.
Other benefits received by honors students include: a reserved study lounge, extended borrowing privileges at the library, funds available for participation in academic conferences and priority in enrollment.
