Pastor Mike Clark, of the Christ Lutheran Church in Wichita, will speak at Bethany College on Tuesday, January 9, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the interterm speakers series “The Real CSI.”
Clark, who was pastor to BTK killer Dennis Rader when he was arrested and convicted of murder, will speak about ministering to a congregation in the midst of a sensational news story.
He will address issues related to Rader, but says, “I don’t want that to be the focus of my talk. That’s just holding up evil, and I want no part of that.”
Clark has been pastor at Christ Lutheran Church for six years. Prior to that he worked in real estate, pharmaceuticals, railroading and education.
He has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Drake University and a Masters of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary.
Other speakers in “The Real CSI” series include Mike Finnegan, forensic anthropologist at Kansas State University, who will speak on Tuesday, Jan.16, at 7:30 p.m. about the reality of what is seen in the media about criminal forensics, and Mary Dudley, medical examiner for Kansas City, Mo., who will give a presentation on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m. titled “Crime Scene to Trial—a Quadruple Homicide Case Study.”
All presentations will be in Lindquist Hall and are free and open to the public. |
