HOFFMAN SENIOR EXHIBIT OPENS APRIL 12

The senior art exhibit by Nicky Hoffman will be Thursday, April 12, through Tuesday, April 17, in the Mingenback Art Center Gallery at Bethany College.

            The artist’s reception will be Sunday, April 15, from 2-4 p.m., with a gallery presentation at 2:30 p.m.

            The show will include wheel-thrown ceramic works, in addition to paintings and prints. The show explores the theme of a woman’s transformation by overcoming trials and hardships. “I feel a strong connection with clay. A piece starts as a fragile form and through several devastating kiln firings, it emerges as a beautiful and interesting work of art,” said Hoffman. “Similarly, I feel that I overcome setbacks and difficulties to grow into a beautiful and interesting woman.”

            Hoffman will graduate in May with a degree in art education pre-K-12 and studio art.
