SEARCH COMMITTEE NARROWS CANDIDATE POOL
The presidential search at Bethany College continues as the Presidential Search Advisory Committee makes plans to interview candidates off campus at the end of April. The list of applicants was narrowed at a meeting of the committee on Tuesday, April 17.
“The exceptionally large pool of names and the fine quality of applicants from which to draw made the task of winnowing a challenge,” said Dr. Kathleen Hurty, chair of the committee. “However, the committee worked diligently to come to a consensus on a selective group.”
After the off-campus interviews, the committee will recommend a smaller number of candidates for campus interviews which will begin May 6.
The committee is working with the firm Academic Search, Inc. The Bethany board of directors will make the final selection of the president.
"This search committee has done a tremendous job in assessing the strong pool of candidates, greatly enhanced by Dr. Bill Franklin and Academic Search, Inc,” said Tad Doering, chair of the Bethany board. “The committee has continued to ensure Bethany's current and future needs are at the forefront of this selection process.”
