BETHANY ALUMNI STILL NEEDED FOR STATE FAIR
LINDSBORG, Kan.—It’s almost time for the Kansas State Fair and Bethany College is still in need of alumni volunteers. The college will have a booth in the Meadowlark Building at the fair Sept. 8-17 in Hutchinson. Alumni volunteers are needed to help staff the booth in two-hour shifts. Each volunteer will get into the fair for free on the day they volunteer. That means alumni can work for two hours and spend the rest of the day enjoying the fair! Volunteers are able to sign up for multiple shifts if they choose. The first shift begins at 9 a.m. each day and ends at 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. Bethany gear and nametag will be provided at the booth. Volunteers also receive a free gift from the alumni office. “It is a fantastic opportunity to promote Bethany, meet with fellow Alumni, meet prospective students and visit with friends old and new,” said Sharon Spohn, Bethany admissions officer. Each shift will be staffed with a Bethany alum, faculty or staff person and a student. To volunteer, contact Sharon Spohn at 785-227-3380 ext. 8112 or via e-mail at spohns@bethanylb.edu. Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The mission of Bethany College is to nurture and challenge individuals in their search for truth and meaning as they lead lives of faith, learning and service.
